Compassionate Listening: Healing our World from the Inside Out A weekend intensive with Leah Green Director, The Compassionate Listening Project December 3-5, 2004 Santa Fe, New Mexico To develop the drop of compassion in our own heart is the only effective spiritual response to hatred and violence. - Thich Nhat Hanh Location: St. John's United Methodist Church Community Room, 1200 Old Pecos Trail, Santa Fe, NM. 10 minutes drive south of the downtown plaza Time: 6-9 PM on Friday, 10-6 Saturday, and 11-5 on Sunday Cost: $225-350 sliding scale; $100 deposit required with registration with balance due at the program. About the Compassionate Listening Intensive: This experiential workshop is for those wanting to strengthen their skills as peacemakers and cultivate compassion in daily life. Compassionate Listening is a powerful tool for reconciliation. It is used to initiate peace-building efforts in conflict at all levels: personal, community and global, offering insight and healing for all. The weekend intensive focuses on the fundamentals of Compassionate Listening and provides the skills to bring this technique into daily life, including listening in challenging situations. Participants often tell us they did not expect such a deeply personal, transformative experience, so we would like to be clear - this is a skill-building workshop but participants put the skills to use immediately where they are challenged the most. What you take out of the workshop has everything to do with what you bring to the weekend - your personal needs and challenges. Together we create a loving, trusting learning community and experience the transformative power of Compassionate Listening. We welcome people of all nationalities and backgrounds age 18 and over.
